Vouette & Sorbée

A micro-domain if ever there was one, Vouette & Sorbée has been making the eyes of Champagne enthusiasts shine for over 30 years. Established in 1993 in Buxières-sur-Arce, Hélène and Bertrand Gautherot decided very early on to work with organic and biodynamic methods. They are part of this generation of pioneering Champagne winegrowers, including David Leclapart, Anselme Selosse and Vincent Laval. Refusing to use chemicals and limiting yields, concentrating on quality rather than quantity... these were the choices that made them true Martians in the Champagne region for many years to come! Visiting the estate means first and foremost taking a geology lesson with Bertrand, who will be delighted to show you the difference between Kimmeridgian and Portlandian soils. Because at the domaine, most of the work is done in the vineyard. It's here that healthy grapes are grown, on relevant plots, with a sustainable vision. Vouette & Sorbée is first and foremost the name of two plots of vines...
Their micro-parcels allow them to work with precision, mainly on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. From these two grape varieties, Vouette & Sorbée produces two champagnes that every wine-lover should know: Blanc d'Argile and Fidèle.
Gradually, their daughter Héloïse took over and experimented in new directions (hillsides of Champagne, among others).
